I combine iridescent black pearls, strings of
tiny garnets, moonstone and topaz with precious metals to stunning effect. The primary themes of my work are light, colour and movement.
In many of my pieces there is a discreet kinetic element - perhaps a gently sliding jewel - which significantly adds to the wearer’s enjoyment. Nature and geometry are key sources of influence. I am fascinated how natural things, which at first appear to be chaotic, are organised and full of structure.
I gained a BA Honours degree in Three-dimensional Design from Buckinghamshire Chiltern University College and continued my specialist training in stone setting and gemmology. Following extensive jewellery workshop experience, I set up my own
business in 2002.
I show my work through exhibitions and galleries in Northern Ireland, England and further afield, and am a member of County Down Crafts, the Society of Designer Craftsmen, the Crafts Council of Ireland and the Association of Contemporary Jewellers.
