Using traditional jewellery techniques this silver stars and moonstone ring is entirely handmade, fabricated from sterling silver. Each of the six silver stars has been individually cut and shaped to surround the central blue moonstone. The silver ring band has a slight curve on the outside as well as the inside, making it a very comfortable ring to wear.
Being fortunate enough to live in rural Fermanagh as I do the inspiration for the silver stars and moonstone ring design came from directly over my head, with less light pollution, on a clear night you can get a really good look at the nights sky.
As well as moonstone being the birthstone for June, along side pearl, it is often associated with moonlight, and it is easy to see why. Its internal structure scatters the light that strikes it, creating a phenomenon known as adularescence. The visual effect is reminiscent of the full moon shining through a veil of thin, high clouds and gives this gemstone it’s beautiful and unique qualities. It’s no wonder the mysterious glow of the moonstone has fascinated people for centuries, and legends say that moonstone will bring good luck.
The band width is 5mm and 1.7mm deep and the ring is a size L,
due to the unique properties of this beautiful natural semi precious stone, this ring can not be resized. If you are interested in this ring but would like it in a different size, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
The silver stars and moonstone ring comes packaged in a gift wrapped presentation box and a little card with care instructions.
